Established in 2020, Manifold is a Brooklyn-based artist collective operated by Yihan Chen and Fengyi Zhu. Considering the design of furniture as a visceral lens for exploring the human condition and collective consciousness, Manifold focuses on creating works in the form of functional objects by materializing the compatibility between representative ready-mades and juxtaposing crafting - they are keen to challenge our perceptions of functionality, utility, object culture and ourselves through the unique visual communication in a spatial sense. Their works have been shown internationally and they have also taken on many direct commissions from clients in fashion, interior design, architecture, and arts.
